Nowadays the population of Venice totals at more than 271 thousand inhabitants. In the whole world Venice is known as the city of water, and is famous for its waterways. Tourists may enjoy traveling by gondolas, specific Venetian boats, which have been the traditional transport for centuries. The possible danger of the city sinking makes it more popular with tourists.
